1996 Pommard Les Rugiens

Very good deep red. Deeper, broader, more expressive nose combines redcurrant, coffee, cola, iron and animal fur, plus a suggestion of truffle. Fat and rich; shows considerably more volume and texture than the Epenots yet seems at least as fresh. The tannins are rich and suave, but here they are more successfully buffered by middle-palate extract.
