1999 Le Montrachet

Light green tinge and satin texture. Convincingly deep flavours of hazelnuts with a smoky edge. Rich, creamy palate entry with very good acid balance. Particularly lovely texture. No surplus astringence. Not the most intense of these wines but very well balanced. Much more impressive than the 1997 tasted blind in the Austrian wine tasting in London. (JR)
