Loaded with plums and blackberries. Rich and full of the most juicy fruit. Lovely.

The 2011 La Petite Eglise has an attractive bouquet with red cherries, orange liqueur and cassis scents, opening nicely with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, slightly bitter and charred, the finish rather dominated by wood tannins. Not sure what future lies ahead for this so drink soon. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting.
Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Meaty and resolved on the nose. Soft and easy. Rose petals and sweetness and not much tannin. Charming. (JR)
100% Merlot (picked 16 September). Dusty dark fruit, just a touch leafy. But then a fluid freshness in the middle. Not particularly dense but pretty dry, and seems to lack fruit generosity. Layers of dry texture build to more depth. Not trying hard to please. No roundness at all. Very linear. Severe. (JH)
