Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2022-2032, Neal Martin, Mar 2023

The 2011 Meursault Les Tillets, which came in magnum, has wonderful definition on the nose with white peaches, orange blossom and lemon sherbet. This is so tensile. The palate is perhaps not quite as complex or engaging as the aromatics, yet it still offers a great deal, crisp and taut with a shimmering citric finish. Superb. Tasted at an off-line dinner at La Trompette.

I loved this wine last year and I love it now! The 2011 Meursault Tillets is extremely well defined on the nose with wet limestone, dewy green apple and apricot blossom scents all intact. The palate is quite rich and open for Jean-Marc Roulot, but beautifully balanced with a succinct apricot and orange zest finish that is suffused with tension and offers great length. Wonderful.

(from high on the hillside): High-pitched, chalk-driven aromas of white flowers and white fruits are pure but reticent, even a bit strict today. Tactile and bracing on the palate, with soil-driven flavors of citrus peel and crushed stone. A very complete, minerally Meursault with terrific intensity and clarity and superb length. Plenty broad and ripe but quite suave, showing a distinctly light touch. This lieu-dit bottling is at the level of a top premier cru in 2011.

Slate, crushed rocks, oyster shells and lime all jump out of the glass in the 2011 Meursault Tillets. Precision and delineation serve to balance the wine's fairly big, broad-shouldered frame. Layers of crystalline, saline-infused minerality inform the finish. The higher altitude of this parcel helps keep considerable freshness and tension. There is a lot to like here.
