Slightly reduced aromas of lime, wild herbs, vanilla and oak char. Savory and moderately fleshy in the mouth, showing a restrained sweetness to its flavors of orange zest, underripe white peach and dusty spices. Boasts good structure and salty persistence but needs a year or two to harmonize.
Dry, creamy and well-defined. Has some fatness, but with a cleansed, refreshing finish. Mealy, savoury finish. (RH)
Enticing nose combines smoke, minerals, wet stone and hazelnut. Then harder-edged in the mouth than the Gruyaches, with excellent mineral cut to the lemon and grapefruit flavors. Finishes rocky and persistent. This cooler north/northeast-facing site has been privileged by global warming, notes Fichet.
