Pale yellow with a green tinge. Very reticent, cool nose hints at crushed rock and flinty minerality. Deep and vibrant, with an almost painful intensity to its pure flavors of crushed stone and minerals. There's underlying citrus flavor here, but the overwhelming impression is of crushed and wet stone. A real essence of Perrieres for the purist ("but restaurants will prefer La Romanee for its fruitier style," notes Dancer), from vines planted in 1963 and the late 1970s.

Quite open on the nose and very pretty on the palate though without the weight of some Perrieres. Neat and well balanced. Still quite chewy. (JR)
(Dancer blends parcels at the top and bottom of this cru) Cool, stony nose shows a honeyed nuance. Dense, fine-grained and strong, with a restrained sweetness and a dusty quality to its flavors of lemon-lime, grapefruit and wet stone. Saline, minerally and very long on the fresh, mounting finish. This one finished its malolactic fermentation late. The crop level here was much lower than in 2004, said Dancer, noting that "length tracks yield: that's why my 2007s will be longer and more complex than my 2004s." The best of these 2007s are wonderfully brisk and gripping.
