Nuanced but closed nose hints at fresh peach, minerals and hazelnut. Sweet, rich and supple, with a strong orange oil flavor complicated by a menthol note and solid underlying stoniness. Very ripe and round but with excellent energy. This will offer wider appeal than the '07, but I marginally prefer the balance and back end of the newer vintage.

Cask sample. Very explosive and sweet. Not at all what people usually think of as Meursault. I’d like to see some of these wines tasted alongside New World Chardonnays! (JR)
