Leafy and just not ripe enough all round. Quite refreshing but not very satisfying and tannins are dry on the finish. (JH)

While better than usual, the herbaceous, richly fruity 2004 Croizet Bages is superficial and one dimensional. Satisfying in a low brow manner, it can be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years.
Mid crimson, neat, well-balanced nose. Restrained, but a lively bottle of wine with no shortage of fruit. Just so long as you like acidity… (JR)
A bit lighter than most. Simple green leafiness – this is hardly Pauillac cru classé! Sweet start and block-like tannins. No finesse. This wine, or proprietor, should be ashamed of themselves. Green, underripe. Not that obviously diluted for which they are probably congratulating themselves… Really unpleasant sickly astringent finish. [This belongs to the same generally under-performing proprietor as Rauzan Gassies which was really rather good in 2004. Let’s hope that in 2005 he extends his reforming zeal to his Pauillac.] (JR)
