Dark crimson. Very cool, rather austere but impressive nose. Lots of fruit concentration on the front palate. Then chew on the end, but this should provide good mature drinking eventually. Quite long. (JR)
After bottling, the 1995 Lynch-Moussas is a very good wine, with a dark ruby color, spicy, cedary, cassis fruit in its moderately-endowed nose, good ripeness and flesh on the attack, and a dry, clean, moderately tannic finish with grip and delineation. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2016. Lynch-Moussas is clearly on the comeback trail, as evidenced by the 1995 and 1996 efforts, which are two of the finest wines I have tasted from this Pauillac estate.
Fat and round with rich fruit character, but slightly flabby. Intense aromas of violets, currants and berries. Full-bodied and thick, with velvety tannins, a medium finish. Best after 2001. James Suckling,Wine Spectator1998
