Note di degustazione
The 2008 Les Tourelles de Longueville has an attractive bouquet with earthy red berry fruit, cedar and smoke, very Pauillac in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite angular at first, moderate depth with a cedar and tobacco-infused finish that needs to muster more complexity. This does seem to improve with aeration and coalesced in the glass, so do not be afraid to give it a short decant. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 10-Year On tasting.

Tasted blind. Mid ruby. Light but well balanced. Good drive. Pencil shavings. Nice and neat. Quite dense. GV (JR)
Very blueish purple. Very light nose. Notably sweet palate entry and light charge of tannins. A bit simple but not too austere. (JR)
Second wine. Very dark. Purplish blue. Warm, toasty nose. Great freshness, then sweetness – 65% Merlot and seems quite alcoholic. Only 13.4% apparently. Clean and fresh and relatively simple though certainly sweet. A bit spiky. (JR)
