Note di degustazione
The 1978 Clos du Tart Grand Cru has a well-defined nose with brambly red fruit, rosewater and Clementine, light potpourri scents percolating up with time. The palate is quite elegant on the entry, perhaps just missing some substance. The main gripe with this Grand Cru is that it kind of "gives up" halfway through and tapers away dramatically. Tasted at the 1978 Bouilland horizontal.

The 1978 Clos de Tart Grand Cru is one of the wines I was looking forward to tasting, but the red warning light came on when I spotted the turbidity of juice in the glass, and then somebody commented that the nose smells of sausage rolls! This is not a representative bottle. Tasted at the Clos de Tart vertical at Ten Trinity in London.
Bright, pale rust colour. Pretty animal on the nose. Violets. Just a little lacking freshness and perfection. Then drying on the finish. Mushroomy. Not quite right. Very dry end. Slight TCA? (JR)
