Note di degustazione
The 2003 Meursault Goutte d'Or from Domaine d'Auvenay has a surprisingly deep color. The nose offers tropical tones, guava and dried pineapple with touches of paw paw, so much so that I did not identify it as a Meursault. The palate is rounded with a pleasant fatness in the mouth and, considering the vintage, a respectable level of acidity, It is very harmonious but just lacks a little delineation on the finish. I absolutely adore Lalou's wines under the d'Auvenay label, but I don't think this is one of her best, perhaps thwarted by the heat of the growing season and fatigued by time.
