Note di degustazione
The 2004 d'Armailhac has an attractive bouquet with mainly red fruit, Indian spices, cardamom and a hint of furniture polish. The palate is medium-bodied with a lactic, dark chocolate-tinged entry. What may hamper this wine is a slightly clumsy application of oak on the finish that obfuscates the terroir expression and freshness.

Serious inky, juicy wine. Lively, fresh, though dry on the end. (JR)
Smoky, cedary. Some attractive fresh just-ripe cassis on the palate. Modest but finely balanced and lingering. (JH)
Informazioni sul produttore

Ch. d’Armailhac is a Pauillac Fifth Growth owned by the Rothschilds, who also own Ch. Mouton Rothschild. Lavished with the same attention to detail and having benefitted from extensive investment in recent years, this estate can offer brilliant value in comparison to its First Growth sibling.
