Note di degustazione
The 2003 Château d'Armailhac is mature on the nose with singed leather, sous-bois , morels and perhaps a hint of a sweaty saddle. But I like it. The palate is medium-bodied with lighter tannins, meaty and savory, missing a bit of grip with a touch of Brettanomyces that becomes more dominant as it opens in the glass. Tasted at the château.

Deep garnet. Pruney fruit on the nose, a touch leathery. Some farmy notes on the palate and tannins pretty dry. Hard work and bitter on the finish. (JH)
Deep crimson. Very rich and ripe – even some residual sugar? Then some rusty nail character and some tarry burnt quality. Fairly fast fade. (Average group score: 15.4) (JR)
Informazioni sul produttore

Ch. d’Armailhac is a Pauillac Fifth Growth owned by the Rothschilds, who also own Ch. Mouton Rothschild. Lavished with the same attention to detail and having benefitted from extensive investment in recent years, this estate can offer brilliant value in comparison to its First Growth sibling.
