The Romanee St.-Vivant may turn out to be entirely too tannic for its own good, but time will tell. Admittedly I tasted it within 2 months of being bottled so perhaps it was in an awkward stage as a result of recent bottling. However, my notes on the wine out of cask also raised the same specter of the wine's being too tannic and hard for the amount of fruit. At the present time, this seems to be the only wine from the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti that is not profound or potentially superb.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, o semplicemente "DRC", è senza dubbio la tenuta più famosa della Borgogna e uno dei produttori più rinomati al mondo. Il vigneto Grand Cru da cui prende il nome produce il vino più costoso al mondo, di gran lunga.
