2000 Savigny Les Beaune Les Vergelesses

(from old vines) Medium red, a bit less deep than the Peuillets. Vibrant aromas of red cherry, raspberry and minerals, nicely sweetened by the wine 80% new oak component. Intensely flavored and solidly structured, with notes of chocolate, leather, game and minerals. Fresh and stylish. Along with the Beaune Greves, this cuvee featured the lowest yields among Potel's 2000s, at about 32 hectoliters per hectare.
