Still bright ruby. Really evolved nose that’s even slightly jammy. Cool start and quite enough acidity. Light and lively but compared with the best-value petits châteaux, this is not a good buy. Depends on whether you want to pay a premium for the Rothschild name. (JR)

Mid crimson with some evolution. Sweet and luscious. Very fresh with some macerated rose petals. (JR)
Toasty oak over slightly herbaceous fruit – more cassis leaf than cassis. Strong mocha notes at first. Dry tannins with quite a grip and not enough ripe fruit to balance. A little austere at the end. (JH)
