Note di degustazione
Full, bright yellow-gold. Very ripe, musky, alluring scents of apricot, marzipan and white truffle. Nicely concentrated, surprisingly fresh, acid-driven wine with an element of balsamic complexity to its flavors of very ripe stone fruits, smoke and toast. Offering an attractive balance of sweet and saline elements, this very rich wine should go on for at least several more years. (47 h/h; 3.28 pH; 4.5 g/l acidity)

The Beaune Clos Des Mouches is Drouhin's flagship white, and the 1996 is superb. Revealing deep, austere mineral aromas, it possesses a gorgeously ripe, juicy, medium-to-full-bodied, and superbly-balanced personality. Almond paste, honeysuckle blossoms, and gravel flavors can be found in this silky wine. Its long, drawn-out, and precise finish is admirable. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2009. All of Drouhin's whites, with the sole exception of the Montrachet, were bottled between early September and the end of October, 1997. Importer: Dreyfus Ashby, New York, NY; tel (212) 818-0770.
