Note di degustazione
56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28.5% Merlot, 15.5% Cabernet Franc. Quite intense and lifted on the nose. Very mineral with flint as well as graphite. Expands on the palate with broad, ripe fruit and plenty of supporting acidity. Concentrated and lively. FINE+RARE

The 2012 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion offers smudged blackberry and raspberry fruit, just a little alcohol here, though nothing to get worried about. The palate has a fleshy mouthfeel, layers of red fruit laced with cedar, white pepper and tobacco. This is a solid, well-crafted Deuxième Vin that at 10 years old is drinking perfectly, yet has the substance to last another decade. Tasted twice at Bordeaux Index's Ten Year-On tasting and blind at the Southwold Ten-Year On tasting.
Softly brushed tannins, gourmet and enticing grilled fruit flavours and waves of peony and violet aromatics. Enjoyable, with character, this is an excellent wine and one of the true pleasures of the vintage.
Tasted blind. Cocoa and sweet but mellow and with freshness and savour. What Pessac-Léognan ought to be? Great balance. (JR)
