One of the house's finest communal wines this year, the 2017 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes opens in the glass with aromas of sweet berry fruit and a deft framing of oak. Medium to full-bodied, textural and fleshy, its ample core of fruit is structured around powdery tannins.

100% whole bunch. In barrel. Again, this is more oaky on the nose than the domaine wines. Very sweet fruit. Then a bit drier on the palate than I expected. Firm and juicy but not quite integrated. (JH)
Light-bodied and firm, featuring a core of black cherry flavors wrapped around mineral and light oak notes. Firms up, with a subtle coating of dusty tannins on the mouthwatering finish. Best from 2022 through 2035.
