Note di degustazione
The 2022 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru unfurls in the glass with notes of raspberries and cherries mingled with hints of smoke and incense. Medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with sweet tannins and creditable mid-palate volume, it will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2022 Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from just under a hectare of vines planted between 1956 and 1986. This has more complexity on the nose than the Charmes-Chambertin, the fruit slightly darker with touches of sous-bois and white flowers. It has a little more depth and terroir expression by direct comparison. The palate is medium-bodied with finer tannins lending this Mazy more edge. There’s commendable purity, the two-thirds new oak finely assimilated with a silky, persistent, seductive finish. This should become an excellent Mazy-Chambertin.
Informazioni sul produttore

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, this domaine has a long history and impressive vineyards (with over five hectares of Grand Cru), but has long been considered an under-performer. Today, however, the Bouygues brothers (of Montrose and Clos Rougeard) have taken ownership and change is afoot.
