Punteggio 85-87/100 · Da bere 2030-2050, Neal Martin, May 2026

The 2025 Rauzan Gassies was picked September 8 to 20 and matured in 55% French oak for a planned 18 months. It has a potent nose with scents of strawberry and raspberry pastilles. It is just missing the complexity of its Margaux peers, though there is nothing unattractive about it. The palate is medium-bodied, with dry tannins, mocha and powdered dark chocolate obscuring the red brambly fruit underneath. It just seems off the pace in a vintage when many Margaux estates thrived.

An impressive Margaux from this estate, the 2025 Château Rauzan-Gassies reveals red and black fruits, spicy wood, and meaty, savory, and herbal nuances on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with terrific concentration, ripe, nicely integrated tannins, and outstanding length. I suspect this is up with the finest vintages from this château.

A pleasant red with plum, cherry and red currant character, a medium body, firm tannins and a juicy finish.

The 2025 Rauzan Gassies impresses with its presence and raw power. Gravel, scorched earth, tobacco, incense and licorice weave through a core of sepia-toned fruit. This muscular Margaux has a lot to offer for those who can wait. There's a ton of wine here.
