The 2025 Le Crock was picked 8 to 20 September and matured in 30% new oak. This has a lifted nose, cedar-infused black fruit with a subtle underlying flintiness. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, a pleasing "flow" to this as a barrel sample that I hope we will see in bottle. Commendable precision on the finish, this is a fine Saint-Estèphe imbued with approachability.

Cassis, graphite, scorched earth, and violet notes all shine in the 2025 Château Le Crock, a terrific Saint-Estèphe that shows the ripe, round, supple side to the vintage while still bringing ample tannins. I think it's going to be outstanding, and it's certainly going to be a satisfying 2025 that will offer pleasure with just short-term cellaring.

The 2025 Le Crock, a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc, reveals an elegant oak profile with notes of spice and licorice, evolving toward dark fruit with aeration. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and layered, it's built around a fleshy core of fruit and is framed by finely grained tannins, with a sense of harmony and composure throughout.
