Punteggio 89-91/100 · Da bere 2029-2044, Neal Martin, May 2026

The 2025 Latour-Martillac shows a little sur-maturité on the nose, slightly pruney, which detracts from its definition. The palate is medium-bodied, with dry tannins, quite structured and "serious" in style, grippy but just a bit laboured on the finish. I much prefer the white this year.

A charming, elegant wine, the 2025 Château Latour-Martillac reveals red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with leafy herbs, tobacco, and spicy wood. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has good purity and a balanced, already complex profile. It's not the most concentrated wine in the vintage, yet it's graceful and hard to resist.

Deeply colored, with smoke, tobacco leaves, herbs, and cigar wrappers. The medium-bodied palate is soft, round, lifted, and elegant. The fruits deliver freshness and refinement, with marine influences, and a hint of espresso on the backend of the finish. If you can wait a few years, it will be even better. The wine blends 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2028-2047.

Focused and juicy, with a medium body and fine, ripe tannins. Generously fruited, with a dense center palate and a chocolaty finish.
