The 2025 Laroze has a bit of reduction on the nose when I tasted it, the wine's aromas reluctant to escape from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, with toasty oak that impedes the fruit profile and leads to some wood tannins on the chocolaty finish.

A serious, concentrated Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, the 2025 Château Laroze is based on 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Petit Verdot being raised in a mix of barrels, foudre, terracotta jars, and cement tanks. Its dense purple hue is followed by concentrated aromatics of black raspberries, graphite, and liquid violets. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has beautiful density, ripe tannins, and integrated acidity, checking in at 14% alcohol. It's a solid, serious effort.
Medium- to full-bodied with expressive dark and red fruit complemented by precise, chalky, incisive tannins that persist through the finish.
The 2025 Laroze offers up inky blue fruit, new leather, mocha, cloves and menthol. Plush and supple, with fine balance, the 2025 has a lot to offer. There's a good bit of oak influence, but it works nicely within the style. This easygoing Saint-Émilion is a fine choice for near- and medium-term drinking.
