Note di degustazione
The 2025 La Rivière feels a little muted on the nose and just needs a little more pep to keep up with the rest. The palate is medium-bodied, with sappy black fruit, quite rustic in style, fresh but missing a little sparkle at this stage.

A charming, delicious wine, the 2025 Château La Rivière is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc that's being raised in 30% new barrels. Ripe black cherries, chocolaty herbs, and floral, incense notes all define the nose, and on the palate, it's medium-bodied, round, supple, and polished, with beautiful mid-palate depth and ripe, velvety tannins. It's a Fronsac with tons of character as well as considerable elegance and class.
The 2025 La Rivière is packed with blackberry fruit, chocolate, new leather, licorice, incense, bittersweet chocolate and scorched earth. This powerhouse Fronsac delivers the goods. There is no shortage of intensity or power. Tasted two times.
The 2025 La Rivière reveals a bouquet marked by discreet oak, spices, dark berries and cassis, becoming more floral with aeration. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and structured, it’s built around a fleshy core of fruit with good depth, supported by a limestone-driven freshness that brings precision and energy. Combining gourmand appeal with a more structured profile, it reflects a clear stylistic shift at this address, with a level of definition and vitality rarely seen at this stage. This blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc is one of the sleepers of the vintage.
