Punteggio 92-94/100 · Da bere 2031-2055, Neal Martin, May 2026

The 2025 La Pointe, which was cropped at 32 hl/ha, has a perfumed nose with fine delineation, red cherries and white-tipped strawberry, the oak very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, well-judged acidity, commendably pure fruit and a touch of white pepper towards the tangy, vibrant finish. Maybe not the substance of the 2022, for example, but it lingers wonderfully in the mouth. This is a very well crafted wine from La Pointe that should give 15 to 20 years' drinking pleasure.

A charming, medium to full-bodied Pomerol from an estate located between Trotanoy and Nénin, the 2025 Château La Pointe is based on 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Black cherries, blackberry, graphite, and spicy, dried herb nuances all define the nose, and on the palate, it has ripe, polished tannins, nice overall balance, and a great finish.

The 2025 La Pointe is a very sexy wine. Sumptuous contours and silky tannins wrap around a core of bright red/purplish fruit. Hints of lavender, rose petal, mocha and sweet spice start to appear with a bit of time in the glass, filling out the layers nicely. This is all charm. Impeccable.
