Punteggio 90-92/100 · Da bere 2029-2039, Neal Martin, May 2026

The 2025 Grand Village was picked September 4 to 18. It has a tightly wound bouquet with cranberry and blackcurrant scents, well defined with a touch of iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with a grainy entry, very well balanced, a tang of cracked black pepper leading to a very cohesive finish. This is a superb Grand Village that should give up to a decade of drinking pleasure.

A pure, focused wine from this remarkable team, the 2025 Le Grand Village is based on 74% Merlot and 26% Bouchet. Ripe cherries, framboise, chalky minerality, and floral nuances all define the nose, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a pretty, seamless mouthfeel, good acidity, and outstanding length. Smart readers will buy a case of this for drinking over the coming 20-25 years or more.

The 2025 Le Grand Village Rouge is a very pretty wine. Crushed flowers, vibrant red-toned fruit, rose petal, blood orange and mint are all nicely lifted. This is an especially airy, aromatic vintage for Le Grand Village. There's good energy throughout. Let's see if this gains weight with élevage.

The 2025 Vin de France from Grand Village reveals a bright, expressive bouquet of dark berries with a hint of raspberry. Medium- to full-bodied, it’s precise and seamless, defined by more pronounced, limestone-inflected acidity than in recent vintages. The texture remains juicy and fleshy yet more tightly contained, lending the wine a firmer sense of structure, and the wine concludes with a fresh and gently ethereal finish. It points to a subtle stylistic shift toward greater tension and clarity. It's a blend of 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc.
