The 2025 Destieux has a powerful nose with bold blackcurrant, blueberry and violet scents, though I would have liked more delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly furry tannins, but I appreciate the acidity and it coheres nicely towards the peppery finish. Hopefully the barrel maturation will imbue this with a touch more delineation because I can see its potential.

A Merlot-forward blend of 66% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 17% Cabernet Franc that will spend 12-18 months in 70% new French oak, the 2025 Château Destieux is deep purple-hued with a gorgeous nose of ripe berries, toasted spices, graphite, and tobacco. On the palate, it's full-bodied, with a pure, concentrated, layered, and elegant mouthfeel, velvety tannins, and a great finish. I love the wines from this estate, and this is a brilliant Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in the making from this talented team.
A juicy red with lovely dark berries and a hint of cherries with a medium to full body and a juicy finish.
The 2025 Destieux is gorgeous. Blackberry, espresso, licorice, cloves, violet and copious new oak saturate the palate. This is an especially opulent, full-bodied Saint-Émilion. The oak imprint is quite strong, and yet the wine has the balance to carry 80% new oak. Plush contours wrap around the persistent, reverberating finish.
