Punteggio 90-92/100 · Da bere 2030-2048, Neal Martin, May 2026

The 2025 Cos Labory contains no Petit Verdot this year. It offers ripe black cherries and blueberry fruit on the nose, pressed violet and iris flower, a hint of wild mint. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and fine acidity, the judicious 20% new oak neatly integrated. Certainly better than the 2024, afford this "useful Saint-Estèphe" three or four years in bottle.

Red, blue, and black fruits, sappy flowers, violets, and graphite all emerge from the 2025 Château Cos Labory, a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 11% Cabernet Franc that's being raised in 20% new barriques. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with a pure, nicely balanced, elegant mouthfeel, silky tannins, and a great finish. It checks in at 13.4% alcohol with a pH of 3.63, and I love its overall balance and purity.

A melange of currants, flowers, licorice and spice box nuances fill the perfume. On the palate, the wine is vibrant, lively, juicy, soft, and fruity. There is a lot of energy here that propels the red berries on the palate through to the mint-accented finish. The wine blends 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and 11% Cabernet Franc. 13.4% ABV.

A chewy and silky red at the same time, with dark berries, hazelnut and spice undertones that follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with fresh fruit and a fresh finish. A blend of 55% cabernet sauvignon, 34% merlot and 11% cabernet franc.
