The 2025 Clos René has an open-knit bouquet, brambly red fruit mixed with brown spices and light pencil shaving scents. Just a patina of over-ripeness from the summer months. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins, a little grainy in texture, brown spices, with a very Pomerol black truffle-tinged finish that is very appealing. It will be an earlier-drinking Pomerol to enjoy over 10 to 15 years.

A serious, concentrated Pomerol, the 2025 Clos René is based on 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Malbec. Smoky red and black fruits, graphite, and leafy herbs define the aromatics, with some subtle floral notes emerging with air. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a concentrated mouthfeel, polished tannins, and a great finish. It might be up there with the finest I've tasted from this château.
The 2025 Clos René is a gorgeous wine that marries the intensity of the year with the classic style of the house. Silky and aromatic, the 2025 impresses with its finesse. Red/purplish fruit, rose petal, lavender and sweet spice all emerge. This is impeccably done.
Aromas of ripe berries, petals and creamy new oak introduce the 2025 Clos René, a medium- to full-bodied wine built around powdery but somewhat firm tannins.
