FINE+RARE, Apr 2026

The 2024 opens with Amalfi lemon, apricot and bergamot. These citrussy overtones give way to fleshy stone fruit and a touch of vanilla, building layers upon layers of flavour. Crisp and mouth-wateringly dry there is a pleasing salinity to the palate which sits in perfect balance with the creamy texture. Clean, crisp and delineated with just a whiff of new oak, this is a great example of refined Chilean Chardonnay.

Fine lees, oatmeal, lemons, yuzu and touches of minerals and cream on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with a fresh, round center palate and a long, zesty finish. Quite well balanced. Drinkable now, but can hold for a few years.

Juicy and intense, this is a Chardonnay with a gourmet edge, grilled white peaches dusted with rosemary, pumice stone grip keeps you engaged and present through the palate. Tomas Munoz winemaker, Eduardo Chadwick owner and director.

The 2024 Chardonnay Las Pizarras from Quillata in Aconcagua Costa spent six months on its lees and 12 months in oak barrels. Fine and delicate, it opens with subtle floral notes, a hint of herbs, ginger, crisp apple and a trace of jasmine. On the palate, it is vibrant and dry, with marked acidity, a saline edge and a soft, talc-like texture. Layered and nuanced, it strikes a well-judged balance between oak, tension and a faintly creamy texture. This vintage suggests that Las Pizarras is finding a stylistic path where fruit and tension express the cool climate while measured aging delivers greater harmony.
