Note di degustazione
The 2025 Péby Faugères just lacks vigour and personality on the fruit, just Saint-Émilion by numbers. The palate is smooth on the entry, the acidity at least imparting some tension, but it has little charm and grace. Not my cup of tea.

A beautiful, ripe Saint-Émilion and the flagship from this terrific estate on the eastern side of the appellation, the 2025 Château Péby Faugères is 100% Merlot that's being raised in one-third new French oak, one-third once-used, and one-third twice-used barrels. It offers up loads of ripe red and blue fruits as well as candied violets, graphite, and sappy floral nuances on the nose, and it's full-bodied on the palate, with a pure, graceful mouthfeel and fine tannins. Checking in at 13.5% alcohol, it brings a remarkable sense of purity and elegance.
Blackberries, blueberries and hints of violets and mint on the nose follow through to a medium to full body with pure fruit and iron, spice and salt undertones. Linear and racy. A pure merlot. One of the best ever.
The 2025 Péby Faugères, 100% Merlot, delivers a heady concoction of crème de cassis, gravel, lavender and mocha. Plush and exotic, with notable richness, Péby has a lot to offer. This dense, explosive Saint-Émilion packs a pretty substantial punch. It's a gorgeous wine from proprietor Silvio Denz.
