Tasted blind. Shaded, purplish crimson. A little loose and dull but no excess of acidity. Quite juicy, even if minor. Clean and fresh. (JR)

The 2021 Château De Camensac is rock-solid. A blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot, it has spicy red and black fruits as well as medium-bodied richness, soft, integrated tannins, good mid-palate depth, and some classic tobacco, cedar pencil, and spice background nuances. It's well worth enjoying over the coming decade.
The 2021 Château de Camensac doesn't really pass muster on the nose. It’s rather meager and bereft of fruit concentration—ephemeral. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, quite dry and austere, with a fleeting finish that disappears before you've even said "Bonjour."
The 2021 de Camensac is a potent, rustic wine. There's good depth, but it is hard to get past the rough, angular contours that dominate the wines balance. Macerated dark cherry, spice, leather, tobacco, incense and dried herbs lend complexity. All this needs is a bit more polish.
Informazioni sul produttore

A stone’s throw from Saint-Julien, Ch. de Camensac was long underperforming, but – under the ownership of the Merlaut-Villars family – was totally restructured, and quality transformed.
