The top wine of the estate, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Adamvs comes from a single block with a southwestern exposition planted mostly to Clone 337. Like the other reds here, it aged in a 50-50 mix of new and second-use French oak. Floral notes mark the nose, joined by hints of sage and bay leaf, then cassis notes carry the fruit onto a medium to full-bodied palate. It's rich and concentrated, with a fair whack of tannin evident on the lingering finish. Give it several years in the cellar and drink it over the next two decades. 470 cases produced.

The Grand Vin 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon ADAMVS comes from a selection of the top terroir of the estate, with 475 cases produced. It's another incredibly pure, polished, utterly classic 2021. Black cherries, cassis, woodsmoke, violets, iron, and hints of walnut shells all define this incredible Howell Mountain Cabernet, which is full-bodied and has a vibrant sense of purity and freshness, building tannins, and a great finish. It's another 30- to 40-year wine that readers will absolutely love to have in their cellar.
Consistently impressive performance from Adamvs, and I strongly recommending getting hold of this wine when it arrives on the market. You can feel the fragrant elegance of Howell Mountain Cabernet, as I have found across the estate wines, and here again you are given layers of confidently expressed sculpted cassis, blackberry, cocoa bean, pencil lead, slate, sage.
