2023 Arkenstone Estate Red Blend

Based on 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petite Verdot, and the rest Malbec and aged 22 months in 100% new French oak, the 2023 Estate Red shows ripe blackcurrants, smoky tobacco, scorched earth, graphite, and subtle floral and iron nuances. It has textbook Howell Mountain complexity, is full-bodied, deep, rich, and layered, yet has the balanced weightlessness and length that makes this vintage so special. Give bottles 4-5 years if you can, and it will see its 30th birthday in fine form. There are 750 cases produced. Drink 2028-2053.
