The 2021 Syrah Kobler Family Vineyard (which includes 10% Viognier) has wonderful lift on the nose, revealing fresh notes of blackberry, cracked pepper, fresh violets, and a touch of apricot. As it opens it, continues to unfold in the glass with notes of pancetta and savory herbs. Medium to full-bodied, it has plush, ripe, refined tannins and keeps a fresh feel all the way through. Long on the palate, this is really my style of Syrah. Drink 2024-2036.

A heady, unctuous wine, the 2021 Syrah Kobler Family Vineyard possesses tremendous textural density from start to finish. Succulent dark-toned fruit, chocolate, mocha, spice, new leather, espresso and iron are some of the many notes that infuse the 2021 with tons of character. A dollop of co-fermented Viognier (10%) adds striking aromatic presence. Very much an extrovert, all it needs is a bit of time for the tannins to soften.
