Punteggio 97/100 · Da bere 2029-2049, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2025

Deep, inward, and concentrated, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box Vineyard has a saturated purple hue as well as notes of black and blue fruits, roasted herbs, scorched earth, and chocolate. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate and has beautiful concentration, ripe building tannins, sensational dry extract, and a great finish. Hide bottles for 4-5 years if you can, and it will evolve for two decades. Drink 2029-2049.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box Vineyard is outrageously beautiful. Soaring aromatics make a strong opening statement. Spice, new leather, cedar, menthol and rose petal are captivating in the glass. This Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is pure and total seduction. A blast of dark red/purplish fruit builds through the mid-palate and into the huge, dramatic close.

All Clone 7 from this Jean Phillips-owned Oakville vineyard off the Silverado Trail, Bevan's 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box Vineyard displays wonderfully complex scents of crushed stone, cherries, raspberries and delicate herbal and floral nuances. It's full-bodied but with a silky, diaphanous texture that gives the impression of weightlessness while still transmitting long-lasting and pretty flavors that invite sip after sip.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box Vineyard is shaping up to be a jewel. Crushed rocks, graphite, lavender, inky dark fruit, crème de cassis, licorice and mocha are all beautifully delineated. I can't remember a vintage of Tin Box with this much savory depth and mineral intensity.
