1993 Truchard Syrah

A textbook Syrah, Truchard's 1993 exhibits a classic nose of smoky bacon fat and cassis. The dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by a flattering, up-front nose that jumps from the glass. There is no astringent tannin to be found in this velvety-textured, rich, full-bodied, gorgeously opulent Syrah. Deep and soft, this is a top-class effort from this Napa winery.
