Note di degustazione
Georges Lignier farms an impressive 1.05 hectares of Clos de la Roche, with parcels spread across much of the vineyard, including 70-year-old vines that bring depth and complexity. The 2024 is serious and mineral-driven, opening with dark, vibrant fruit and a touch of savoury earth. On the palate, it is round yet tightly focused, with a nice hit of fruit at the mid-palate supported by an excellent nerve of acidity. The oak is seamlessly integrated, framing the wine without weight. The tannins are firm but velvety, giving structure while keeping the texture refined. Flavours of dark cherry, dark chocolate and creaminess emerge toward the back, leading into a long, dry, beautifully persistent finish. With its superb length, freshness and clarity, this is a powerful yet polished Clos de la Roche! A standout in the 2024 lineup.

This is a “true” Clos de la Roche as the vines are located almost all over the climat, where the domaine is the fifth largest landholder. Lifted red currants, cranberries and strawberries are punctuated by undertones of turned earth and mocha. Pulsing with acidic freshness and crescendoing in minerally undertones through the long finish, this is downright wholesome.
