Aromas of sweet cherries, raspberries, beetroot and spices introduce the 2024 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru (Domaine Gagey), a medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and layered wine with good depth and sweetness of fruit, ripe tannins and a persistent finish.

The 2024 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru bursts out of the blocks with wild strawberry and raspberry fruit, touches of orange blossom and crushed stone. Admirable purity and vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a sharp entry, conspicuous acidity with just some wood tannins that still need to be integrated. Very peppery on the finish, it just needs more precision on the finish to match the quality of the aromatics.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
