The 2022 Merlot Champoux Vineyard, matured for 20 months in 75% new French oak, has slowly unfolding scents of Luxardo cherries, milk chocolate, green pepper and violet. The full-bodied palate balances ripe, concentrated flavors with silky tannins and fresh acidity, and it finishes with a touch of oak spice. 100 cases were made.

The 2022 Merlot Champoux Vineyard slowly evolves in the glass with hints of cocoa and grilled herbs, balsamic spice and dried blueberries. This is weighty upon entry yet fresh and cool-toned in feel, with decadently ripe red and blue fruits that slowly saturate as accents of dark chocolate add depth toward the close. It tapers off with medium length, a slight balsamic tinge and sweet tannins.
The 2022 Merlot Champoux Vineyard (100% Merlot) is smoking good, with a gorgeous red and black fruited style as well as some chocolaty herb and graphite notes. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, has a round, supple mouthfeel, and beautiful tannins. It should shine right out of the gate yet also have a broad drinking window.
