Moving to the reds, the 2023 Pinot Noir Goldrock Estate is a deep ruby red color and is pure and inviting with ripe aromas of ripe wild raspberries, lifted spices, fresh flowers, and dusty earth. They are starting to slowly incorporate the use of stems in the fermentation, and this wine saw 12% whole clusters and was aged in 28% new French oak. Medium-bodied, it saturates the palate with a pure feel, chalky, fine-tannins, and an elegant, spice-noted finish. Drink 2025-2035.
The 2023 Pinot Noir Goldrock Estate is fabulous. Rich, ample and explosive, the Goldrock Estate captures all the magic of this northerly sector in the West Sonoma Coast. Readers will find a Pinot of uncommon depth and textural resonance. Macerated cherry, kirsch, cinnamon, tobacco and new leather build into the layered, resonant close.
