From the Cortese Vineyard in Coombsville, Relic's 2022 Syrah Scarpa boasts hints of tar and espresso set against a backdrop of blueberries and black olives. It's medium to full-bodied, though not that rich or textural, with modest silky tannins and hints of cedar and vanilla (the wine spent 19 months in 33% new French oak) on the finish.
