Dense plum-hued, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon offers red and black fruits, iron, baking spices, chocolate, and hints of asphalt. Aged 20 months in 75% new French oak, it's ripe, fleshy, and supple, with the fruit-loaded, unctuous style of the vintage. It has ripe tannins and good overall balance, though I wouldn't push the aging curve, as this certainly has its foot firmly on the ripeness pedal. Drink bottles over the coming decade. Drink 2025-2035.

Tierra Roja's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon doesn't measure up to the heights achieved by the 2021, but it's still an excellent wine from owner-grower Linda Neal and consulting winemaker Benoit Touquette, who matured the wine for 20 months in 75% new French oak. Hints of crushed stone and machine oil accent ripe cherries, cinnamon and vanilla on the nose, while the full-bodied palate features plush, soft tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish. This vineyard, located in the same posh eastern Oakville neighborhood as Screaming Eagle and Dalla Valle, near the intersection of Silverado Trail and Oakville Crossroad, produced 250 cases in 2022.
A bold, dark, rich red that entices with deep blueberry, chocolate and creme de cassis flavors on a broad texture of melted tannins. Full-bodied, very ripe and luxurious, almost sweet in its dried fruit and dark chocolate flavors. So smooth and velvety in texture. Drink or hold.
