Note di degustazione
A deep, rich wine, the 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles is endowed with gorgeous resonance. Violets, new leather and exotic spices all add complexity as the 2011 fleshes out in the glass. The flavors are broad, rich and intense. There is plenty to look forward to. The 2011 was done with 60% whole clusters, while new oak was about 65%.

(from 66-year-old vines; 60% vendange entier): Deep red-ruby color. Blackberry, licorice and violet on the nose, with a distinctly wild mineral quality. Dense and supple in the mouth, with blackberry and licorice flavors perked up by a whiff of pepper. Concentrated, nicely balanced wine with a long, spreading finish that features excellent lift.
60% whole bunch. 60% new oak. Dark crimson. Broad, sweet and evocative. Lots of juice and attractive structure. Very pure and intense. Mineral. Still chewy end. (JR)
