My favorite of this set of white wines from Lone Madrone is the 2023 Chenin Blanc, sourced from dry-farmed vines planted in 1964 at Chen Vineyard and aged for 16 months in neutral puncheons. It leads with a complex, dynamic bouquet of beeswax, orchard fruits and crushed stones with a focused, herbal note appearing after aeration. The palate is silken, rich and focused, releasing into a refined, refreshing and mineral-laden finish that lingers with impressive length.
