The 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Clos is superb, unwinding in the glass to reveal notions of citrus oil, white flowers and smoke mingled with hints of crisp stone fruit, pear and fresh bread. Full-bodied, layered and muscular, it's deep and nicely concentrated even in this abundant vintage, with lively acids and a long, saline finish.

The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a gorgeous nose of dried apricot, honeysuckle and mint, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed entry, a fine bead of acidity and superb harmony. This is not the most complex Les Clos I have tasted from the domaine, but it impresses in terms of length and persistence. Give it another 3–4 years in bottle.

There’s beautiful richness and symphonic completeness from the outset, a hallmark of this cru and a vineyard that has risen to the challenge in 2018. Oyster shell, citrus and stone fruit, together with flint, chalk and hints of pastry, all lead to a palate that has a super smooth, sleek and round feel.
