Note di degustazione
The 2023 Pinot Noir Louise is built for the cellar. It has slowly unfurling scents of black cherry, orange peel, forest floor, holiday spice and charcuterie, offering new aromatic facets with each return to the glass. The full-bodied palate is brimming with dark, perfumed fruit. It’s framed by velvety tannins and bright acidity and has a long, nuanced finish. 513 cases were made.

Pouring a darker ruby red color, the 2023 Pinot Noir Louise is a single-block selection in the vineyard and is the only wine in the range that gets some (15%) whole clusters. It has more depth and saturation all around, with notes of cardamom, cherry liqueur, ripe tannins, and crushed stones, and it has excellent structure and a long finish. It’s well-balanced and is going to be worth holding and drinking over the coming 20 years.
The 2023 Pinot Noir Louise is impossible to ignore, darkly alluring yet perfumed throughout, with a cascade of vividly ripe black cherries and raspberries complicated by a hint of crushed stone and rosemary. Refined and seamlessly silken in character, it offers ripe red and blue fruits under an arc of inner violet tones. The finish is incredibly long, leaving a web of fine tannins, a pleasantly spicy sensation and a tinge of tart blackberry that fades slowly. If you had to cellar just one of the 2023s from Domaine Drouhin, this would be it.
