Unwinding in the glass with gently reductive aromas of citrus oil, freshly baked bread, beeswax, smoke and buttery pastry, Litaud's 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru La Maréchaude is medium to full-bodied, ample and layered. It's a satiny, textural, fleshy wine with a broad and expansive profile.

The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Maréchaude 1er Cru comes from a 0.25-hectare plot that yielded five barrels in this vintage. This has a seductive bouquet with yellow fruit, crushed rock, lemon thyme and a subtle strawberry scent. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, fresh and focused, lightly spiced with a lingering minerally finish. Impressive…but you get the feeling that there is more to come in future vintages.
